Description

The CGRS M is a scholarship in the Canada Research Training Awards Suite (CRTAS) administered by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The CRTAS aims to support the next generation of innovators by providing funding and high-quality research training, cultivating research skills, fostering creativity and empowering awardees to make significant contributions to Canadaā€™s research ecosystem, economy and prosperity.

The objective of the Masterā€™s scholarship funding opportunity is to help develop research skills and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel by supporting students who demonstrate potential to contribute to Canadian research.

CGRS-M scholarships are reviewed and awarded through ×īŠĀŠÓ°ÉŌ­““, with awards issued each year to applicants who, as of December 31 of the year of the competition, have not completed more than 12 months of full-time academic study in their masterā€™s program.

Eligibility criteria

  • You must be a Canadian citizen or aĀ permanent resident of Canada.Ā 
  • You mustĀ be enrolled in, have applied for or will apply for full-time admission to an eligible graduateĀ program.
  • As ofĀ December 31Ā of the year you are applying for the scholarship, you must have completed betweenĀ 0 and 12 monthsĀ of full-time studies in your graduate program.
  • Indigenous and Black student researchers who apply for CGRS-M scholarships may be considered for supplemental awards and/or additional funds designated for specific groups.
