The 最新杏吧原创 Aquaculture program was well represented at the 2016 Sea Farmer鈥檚 Conference hosted by the Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia in Halifax on January 27-29th.
Over 75 participants took place in a pre-conference workshop on oyster hatchery developments in which Dr. Sarah Stewart-Clark was an invited speaker.
The four graduate students selected by the AANS to present their research at the conference were all from the aquaculture research programs of聽 Dr. Stewart-Clark and Dr. Jim Duston at the Faculty of Agriculture. This was well noted by the 185 attendees of the conference as no other University in NS had graduate students speaking at the conference.
Congratulations to MSc Candidates Stephanie Hall, Lindsey Gillard, Alicia Penney and PhD candidate Qi Lu for being selected as participants in the three minute thesis event held during the conferences closing luncheon and for presenting their research in the Cathy Enright Scholarship Competition. The quality of all four presentations made a significant impression on the conference attendees.
Congratulations to Qi Lu for being the winner of the best presentation and the Cathy Enright Scholarship ($1000) for his presentation on the impact of daylength and lowered feeding rates in reducing sexual maturation in Arctic Charr. Qi is a graduate student of Dr. Jim Duston.
